LOCAL BUSINESS NEWS: 2013 ‘fabulous’ year for real estate in Canyon County
CALDWELL — After a tough five years for real estate, the market in Canyon County is improving, with prices up more than 20 percent in 2013 and total sales up more than 7 percent over 2012.
More than 3,100 homes were sold in Canyon County in 2013, according to data from the Intermountain Multiple Listing Service. The average selling price for those homes was $143,192, up from $115,912 in 2012 and $97,402 in 2011. Nearly a third of the homes sold were in south Nampa, followed by about 20 percent in southwest Caldwell.
